Vice President for Administration
Tom Vautin
Tom Vautin is the Acting Vice President for Administration (VPA). He oversees six central administration departments at Harvard: The Harvard Faculty Club; Harvard Magazine; Harvard Real Estate Services; Harvard University Dining Services; University Operations Services; and the University Planning Office.
His responsibilities include capital planning and general oversight of major renovation and construction activity (~ $400m annually); environmental health and safety; dining services and the Faculty Club; the management of the university's non-academic real estate portfolio; acquisition and disposition of property; and the maintenance of its physical plant.
VPA is the largest administrative unit at Harvard. The operating budget for the VPA units is approximately $402 million; they employ more than 1,600 people, including members of eight unions.
